for some reason my game crashes when i enter the great mausoleum level. Tried it multiple times, crashes every time. Might be a mac specific bug, but it's kinda annoying because i was really getting into it.
 
So, I might be mistaken, since I have not played the original version of this game. But, I think the wrong block type was used here. Since, you don't get the Ultra Badge until MUCH later into the game. But, this blocks off where you get said badge....

I was a bit confused at first, but you're correct! There was a mixup with the ultra block and the super block in this course. An ultra block is meant to be in a platform beyond this path, and a super here, I'm surprised it slipped past. Will be corrected in a update to the port, among other things. Thank you.

I have heard a similar issue from others; that the Great Mausoleum, alongside some other levels are prone to crashing either at random or consistently, so I'm certain it's not exclusive to the Mac build, you're not alone in this.
This is the main problem I would like to address and solve when I update the port, but so far I've had little luck pinpointing the root of the crash, perhaps a memory leak from a custom object/code.

Oh so, I think I found another issue. In Course 14, on the "Dungeon of the Moon Sea -UB-" level. The red switch is already pressed. Meaning you don't have to go through the Ultra Block, you can just swim straight to the water level changer next to the... well, dungeon.

Edit: So, in Extra Stage 2, I don't know if there's anything you can do about this. But, if another player joins you. It's impossible for them to clear the Metal Cap part. Due to the Metal Cap not respawning. Oh and, the shell as well. Again, I'm legit not sure if anything can be done about that.

If you could allow it to respawn somehow, that would be nice for multiplayer sessions. (I guess I could get around this by using an invincibility cheat for the other players....)

On that note... I have 111 stars in this hack now. So, I'd say I've seen most of the big bugs by now. (I don't know if I'll 100% the hack, due to not knowing which Secret Stars I'm missing. And finding a guide to something like that is a pain for a hack.)

I have an issue where I crashed after touching the first boss's star, on reload I have the star but not the badge. I have the stay in level after getting a star mod enabled if that affects anything.

Fixes
  • Corrected SuperBlock and UltraBlock locations in course 7, swapping them back to their intended places.
  • Added a missing SwitchBlock exception for course 4 and 14, now starting the level with blue pressed instead of red.
  • Skip intro is permanently toggled on. Peach has already stopped existing alongside the rest of the Earth.
  • Stay in course when collecting a star is now permanently toggled off...

I found 2 bugs where an getting hit by amp influence the stage textures and the badges corrupt in the save file after closing the game and reopening
