Press whichever key or button you have mapped to chat. To change which button is mapped to chat go to the options.

Are you using hex codes? If so, make sure all the letters are lowercase.

It just defaults to Mario's color palette and no matter what I do, I can't get the custom colors working. I'm trying the Fazbear 64 mod

What exactly are you doing? Are you making a custom preset or editing Mario's palette?

I'm trying to get the character's default color palette working since the mods are supposed to immediately apply the correct palette. I don't want to edit a palette, I want the mod's character to have the correct palette from the start.

So are trying to get Freddy (or whichever character you're using) to use the corresponding palette? If so, you're going to have to make it on your own.
