I need help making a mod

Backstory​

I was trying to edit my save file, I found the file but i didn't work, and i opened it in a hex editor, but it made no sense. so i went and looked for if there are functions for editing the save, and to my surprise... yes!

The thing i need​

I have some coding knowledge, but i may have some problems along the way. so if someone would like to help me, i'd prefer if we could get an easy way to message each other (because talking on the forum is not the best for simple contacting), so whenever i need help i can upload it to github and ask you for help. The repository is here I currently need help the error i get is

to replicate, download the mod (duh), use the command, /choosesave (a number 1-4), then /setstar (any number) (any number)
