Downloading mods from within the game

This would help with the complexity of downloading mods (mainly for new players), plus the speed of getting a mod downloaded (idk I think all this is pretty obv).

i kind of like going onto the forums to get mods instead personally, but i do see the appeal. though that would require a loooot of work, especially in regards to connecting to a network with every mod hosted. idk if there's api that exists for getting a post that has a download attached either

the website has a built in api for accessing mod content. that's all I will say about anything (and does not imply that this will ever come to fruition).

If this ever was a thing, there would be an approval process, and several of us would look at it before it would be flagged to be available in game.

What about the ability to download a mod that the host is using on their server? I could see how this would be bad, like if the host didn't want you downloading a mod, but it'd be pretty convenient.
