When doing a triple jump, do a jump kick for the first jump; this is the fastest way to do a triple jump. If a ledge is a bit too high, try using a side-somersault or a triple jump onto the wall then wall-kick off the wall and move Mario towards the same direction as the wall; if performed correctly, you should be able to grab the ledge. When you do a dive, right before touching the ground, press A, then B in quick session in order to rollout before any dust is made. If performed correctly, the dive will produce no dust. Dives that don't make dust are faster than ones that do make dust. Those are a few movement techniques off the top of my head. I apologize if they were hard to understand or were just not helpful.
