EDIT: Sunk has been removed from JLB. Needle was under the impression Sunk had grown in the 2 years since the incident, but unfortunately she did not. Please don't harass Needle or anyone in JLB or continue this drama in any way.

Hello, this post is directed towards people who have heard about what's been going on between me and a friend group by the name of JLB. There is something going on in this friend group that I privately took issue with, involving the status of two people who were banned from the server. A handful of people in JLB wanted these two unbanned in spite of their actions so I put my foot down and said they were staying banned and also voiced my personal opinion on this behavior in the group.
One message was leaked to the public and turned into 2 community posts that mostly either omit important details or make a plethora of false claims. Here and here. It's not wise to only follow one side of a story so I'm going to explain everything fully provide background context to fill in any potential blanks on details or people you might not know:

Needlemouse is a prominent and well respected member of the coop community who has ported rom hacks and gone all the way up the ladder to being a staff member due to all of us trusting him. He is the founder of JLB.
Squishy is the lead developer and maintainer of the built-in mod Character Select, her server is the home of Character Select and also a safe space for queer individuals.
JLB is a speedrunner friend group that has been historically associated with sm64coopdx who has grown from like 6-10 people to about 30 in more recent times.

I will now explain what happened with Sunk and Key's Artworks, they are not innocent as some claim them to be.

Reader Warning:
It was suggested I put in a warning for the images below, so here it is. There is one image with Key's thigh posting in it which I added for evidence to prove I'm not lying or making things up. I also linked the zip file to the rest of the images and videos too.

In 2023, someone in the community by the name of Sunk was banned from the discord server because they accidentally posted an image that contained loli CP depicting underage catgirls in a sexually explicit manner. The image was deleted quickly but a moderator charity witnessed it and the fact that Sunk even possessed this legally gray if not completely illegal imagery raised a lot of red flags and they ended up getting banned, something Sunk still resents and believes was a mistake to this day and has pinned the blame onto me mainly even though at that point in time I wasn't even in the coop server because I left and was working on sm64coopdx v0.1. Obviously I can't send the image but there's no denying what Sunk did, members of JLB who are close to Sunk know the truth.

At the end of 2024 and start of 2025, someone in the community but also mainly around Squishy's Server by the name of Key's Artworks was sending a lot of images and videos of them squishing and jiggling their very exposed thighs and also fake breasts. This is a very inappropriate and weird behavior to have around minors let alone in a public server too. The members of Squishy's Server agree and believe what Key's did wasn't okay. Someone put all of the instances of these images and videos being sent into a folder which totalled out to a little over 36 megabytes of images and some videos. I sat on the files for a while unsure of what to do with them but staff in Squishy's server decided they were going to ban Key's and convinced me I should do the same in coop, so I did. If you think I'm still making baseless claims, here is the evidence, the zip file.

Last month in June, Sunk's ban was being discussed in Needlemouse's server and several notable members of the group were defending both Sunk and Key's, I'll show you the screenshots:

Needle wasn't a fan of how some time passed before the decision to ban Sunk was made, which is entirely fair.

I caught wind of what was being said recently and logged back into my account to put my foot down against the unbans and say what I think in the private moderator channel. A member of JLB, Super-playz and possibly someone else has gone ahead and made this entire situation a public scandal and shown cherrypicked leaked messages from said private moderator channel and made false claims like I "released a defamatory statement boiling down to accusing me and my friends as being a danger to children with absolutely ZERO evidence" implying I made some public statement somewhere or even made such a claim in the first place. No such public statement exists anywhere and his main argument against me also seems to be that I provided zero evidence for my claims when the only thing he provided to the public was a single screenshot of a message I sent in the mod chat.

As you can see, I actually DID provide evidence showing why I came back to make a statement. As for the claims about Sunk and Key's, evidence was already known by the moderators and it's not like I had to prove anything to them. This is quite literally taking one screenshot from a private channel and posting it without context, and spinning your own narrative out of it. They're acting like I just came in out of no where to spout with crazy baseless accusations calling JLB a bunch of pedophiles or something in a public setting somewhere which is not what I did at all. I voiced my personal opinion on the group privately, moreso really the handful of people defending Sunk and Key's. I said there was a questionable amount of people either having done something weird involving minors in some way or defending those people who were doing weird things. 98% of them not knowing anything is a very gross overestimate and just trying to look like basically nobody had zero idea about anything, this is simply not true. I intended only really Needle to see what I said because I had no intentions of making a huge drama and shitshow out of JLB. If I were really the evil weirdo narcissist egotistical pathetic liar who people claim I am, I would have made a public shitshow out of JLB and gotten the public involved, gotten pissy about it all and then probably banned Needle or something and it just would have been a whole terrible ordeal that would achieve nothing but make sm64coopdx look like a shitshow, but that is not what happened at all.

Despite all of this, I'm still sorry to anyone in JLB I insulted who actually had no idea about what was going on with Sunk and Key's, you are innocent and are not subject to my criticism like the ones who are defending these people are. Calling the whole group Jolly Loli Bait definitely made it look like I was insulting all of them when that wasn't what I trying to do, but that jab was just too far, unfair, and it unnecessarily antagonized everyone which was not my intention because there definitely are people in the group who were newer or just completely unaware of everything going on with those two.

The truth is, I don't really care what the group does or who they decide to include or defend, I'm subject to my own thoughts and can freely think it's fucked up that there are a group of people inside JLB defending someone with loli CP and someone sending sexually charged videos and images in a place full of minors but at the end of the day that's just my personal opinion and I needed to set my foot down and enforce that they are not getting unbanned, that's just my job as the "head" of coop people see me as. Even then I don't owe anyone the act of feigning professionalism because this is not a company or professional project that anybody is being paid for. This is a hobby project made by a bunch of Super Mario 64 enthusiasts, most of which are teenagers and young adults. I also wasn't planning on taking any action against JLB either. I logged off the account and went right back to doing other things because I've been mostly staying away from coop, especially the Discord because I needed a break due to the fact that I'm actually a human being with limits as well especially having such a massive responsibility on my shoulders with so many other things going on that I need to handle as well.

SO, even despite the damages this has caused to my reputation and potentially to sm64coopdx as well, no one is being punished or demoted or banned and I've talked things out with Needle and there are no hard feelings or ill will or anything. Even though he did leak the moderator chat which ending up also going public too without his direct input, he is not the villain and I don't want anyone to think he is. Both parties just want this drama to be over and after this, I have nothing more to say about JLB. We both agree that there are certain aspects of this whole situation we could have handled better and getting the public involved was not a good idea at all. Thank you for taking the time to read my statement and I hope this clears up a lot of the misconceptions and misrepresentations made about this whole situation.

Some additional footnotes I figured weren't as vital to include:

I try to, especially nowadays, keep my personal view on subjects or people out of the project because I've grown enough along with it to realize it's not in the best interests of the project to be actively beefing with certain people or enforcing my views onto the project. I've completely stopped holding grudges against people and actually gotten along with them now. Despite Sunk's very bad history, I have still continued to keep them unbanned on the mod site and CoopNet, allow their mods to be posted in the server by someone acting as a proxy, reviewed their GitHub PRs, merged them, made tweaks myself to their code if I saw room for improvement, and also credit them in changelogs which I have noticed other projects don't do when there's someone controversal. All of it makes me uncomfortable even interacting with Sunk but I deal with it because that's whats people generally expect of me and that's just what I do.

I'm honestly not sure how the project would go if I were to retire or leave like some people want me to, I've been working on coop for 3 years now and still have some things I would like to do like fixing long standing bugs and trying to clean up the codebase a little. When I left sm64ex-coop, the development practically slowed to a complete crawl. I believe v36.1 was the last version released which was in mid to late 2023, and after that development just completely dried up and I don't think any newer versions were planned. sm64ex-coop died without me and the merger brought the project back to life and back together. I'm afraid if I were to leave then the same thing would happen except no one comes to save it. Besides dj when he was the lead developer, I have probably been the most active contributor to this project for years and have poured more hours than I can count into it. I've basically made it my life up until recently. I have thought about retirement but I think it's too early for that and I also have yet to come up with a suitable replacement too.

I have tolerated years of people throwing dirt at me for things I didn't do or things blown way out of proportion and have just carried on and kept doing what I do because my love for this project outweighs my feelings towards people spouting crap. I just thought I should say all of the things people do to try and take me down make me wonder if my work and contributions are even appreciated by the community... I don't really like publicly opening up but I do have a life outside of coop I keep totally separate from my life online. I have many people I respect and love and in my life as well relationships to uphold, I could have just been like MrBeast and ignored whatever controversies came his way but I am responding because I care to come back onto my Agent X accounts and handle this.
