Pipocalio submitted a new mod:

Mirror mode - A romhack compatible mod that flips the entire game world horizontally.

This mod adds a mirror mode to Super Mario 64, flipping the entire game world horizontally — including levels, objects, and animations.

Since it doesn't replace any geometry, so it should work with most custom levels and "romhacks" without issues.
Note that this mod only flips the camera controls if you're using the vanilla camera. If you're using a custom one (romhack camera, analog camera, mouse look), you might want to manually enable "Flip X axis" in your camera settings.

Little update to address some issues you reported:

Changes:
  • Fixed an issue where the player's model would appear inside-out after changing models
  • Resolved a bug causing mirror room Mario to render inside out
  • Fixed models appearing inside-out when objects changed model IDs
  • Culling is now only disabled when necessary (e.g., during area/level transitions or model changes)

It's a tiny update, but now the mod works with everything that i tested :)

Changes
  • The mod now can disable culling in optional displaylists (this fixes the area 2 of the overworld in Last Impact being inside out)
  • Directional dialogs are now restored to the original when mirroring is toggled off in the mod menu.
  • The disable_face_culling function now assumes the default RSP geometry mode, provided the...

There's one thing I noticed that I don't think has been mentioned yet. If I'm wrong, forgive me.

But, if you get a Game Over, your controls get mirrored until you re-enter Peach's Castle.

I noticed. This will (hopefully) be fixed later today, along with the fix for the rotating skyboxes
 
This mod makes me think of sm64 Plus's encore mode as a secret but good Job porting that idea to sm64 Coop DX
 
I have a feature request. Perhaps we could select specific levels to remain unmirrored? For example, I was hoping to combine this with the GORE/HARD mod, having the original SM64 levels mirrors, but the new levels exclusive to that mod (like Hell) unmirrored. Naturally there would need to be a way to make camera controls consistent. I wouldn't know how to do that.

edit: speaking of "Gore/Hard-Mode", I noticed that when you run out of lives and get back to the castle grounds, the room is unmirrored until you enter the castle.

So, I think I might have found an issue.

The Metal Cap stage's red coin star might be impossible to get, because the coin spawns in the waterfall. But, there could have been some kind of mod confliction.... Still, might be worth looking into.
