It was just a bunch of star collecting in an empty box basically (with 4 or so copy paste stages from the normal game). The boss seemed cool but was horribly buggy and doesn't take custom characters into account.

Well that's what Mario 64 is, right? Star collecting? I think playing other games should be considered if you don't like going around collecting stars in a level. The copy paste stages complaint isn't entirely unfounded, as I had to make this whole mod in a month and didn't have time to spice the stages up with things like objects or variations of enemies. This is the biggest issue I would address in a remaster, so I'll give you that.

While I am willing to admit the boss is not bug free and he has some jank, he definitely does not constitute "horribly buggy" and many agree it is a fun boss, I personally boot up Underworld sometimes just to fight the Shitilizer.
Custom characters didn't exist until over a year after this mod was made, and even then if you read any of the dialog you would know Shitilizer is meant to be fighting a descendant of one the heroes (Mario characters) who sealed him away long ago, so a custom character wouldn't make sense.
So yeah, some valid points, some not so valid points.
