I'm only leaving four rather than five because, while this mod is incredibly fun and impressive on a technical level, there is always room for improvement. For example...

1. I feel as though Wario's Shoulder Bash and Donkey Kong's Roll would work better if they replaced the Slide Kick rather than the Dive, since it allows them to be used repeatedly more efficiently and allows the use of the Dive both on the ground and in the air rather than only in the air. I implemented this myself as part of my own personal build of the mod, and it works like a charm with the exception of being unable to Shoulder Bash up steep slopes since it forces you into the Slide Kick state.
2. On a related note, there seems to be a brief period where moving while Crouching (AKA Crouch Sliding) allows Donkey Kong to Breakdance, which shouldn't be possible since his Breakdance has been replaced by a Ground Slam in this mod. Also, I feel as though replacing Wario's Breakdance with his Earthshake Punch from Wario Land: Shake It! would be pretty cool and would make both DK and Wario more like Wapeach.
3. Toadette basically just exists and that's it. She's just a worse Toad because even though she's floatier, she seems to have no other ability that compares to Toad's Ground Pound Jump (unless I'm missing something, but I've tried every input I can think of). Maybe a Ground Pound Roll would work?
4. While Waluigi is able to use his Twirl Jump and Yoshi is able to use his Flutter Jump after falling off a ledge, Peach can't use her Float and Daisy can't use her Double Jump, which makes them a lot less viable when it comes to saving themselves from danger compared to Waluigi and Yoshi.
5. Rosalina's Air Galaxy Spin is somewhat inconsistent since it sometimes uses the Dive or the Air Kick, which is inconsistent with the way her Ground Galaxy Spin replaces the Attack Combo and the Dive.
6. Most people on here suggest that Sonic's Spin Dash is very situational and that it should work more like the Adventure games. I disagree, since doing so would completely break the balance of the game by allowing Sonic to go way faster than even Wapeach. Instead, my problem lies in the button that activates it. I feel that it should be activated by tapping A repeatedly while Crouching instead of tapping B repeatedly for multiple reasons. Firstly, removing Sonic's ability to breakdance feels like a crime against nature given his personality. Secondly, pressing Jump while Crouching is exactly how it is used in the Classic games. Lastly, there's no real benefit to Jumping out of a Crouch since the Backflip is unavailable for Sonic. This is another change that I've already implemented myself and it works great.
7. Adding on to the previous point, I feel that moving the Insta Shield & Lightning Jump to A while holding LT in the air and allowing Sonic to Dive in the air again would also be helpful and would again make it more accurate to how it works in the Classic games (with the exception of having to hold LT, but that's a necessary evil to allow the Homing Attack and Air Dash abilities to remain intact).
I give my thanks for giving the main 5 the character moveset mod by default. It really does make every character feel unique, and now only Mario gets to do the high triple jump, which is a godsend.

That aside, I still would've given this a 5 regardless because this is my favorite mod to use. I always make sure to enable it when booting up the game.
No way... they added the Vanilla Character Moveset from Steven3004?! This is absolute cinema!
No more characters having Mario's moveset :D
Más personajes más rejugabilidad
Evil Bad Violent Dark Mega Shadow Vinny
This mod is awesome as it is right now, but Sonic still does that A-pose thing after every Spinball action, i don't know if that was intentional or not.

(btw, sorry for the off-topic suggestion on the review, but i needed to speak about it somewhere :v)

At this point, my request would be some sort of API or UI to toggle moves for some characters, like Sonic's homing attack by drop-dash, or Peach's hover by Daisy's double jump.
this is the mod where you play as mario uncle. and sonic. and peach and daisy. Hi
great mod but in 1.7 for character select sonics ring loss doesnt work he just dies after one hit
This mod is amazing! The only downside is it's god awful voice acting
It looks cool but im slow. i loaded my game and it said the mods loaded but i dont see any of the characters? how does this work.
great mod but why does the base sm64coopdx come with an outdated version of this mod?????
It's a great mod and I'd love to use it more but characters like yoshi and peach break and softlock you when you have the Mega Man X mod and/or the Propeller fly guy pet mod.
idk if this is something you can fix but maybe you could communicate with the creators of these mods and work together to find a solution
Yuyake "FunkyLion"
Yuyake "FunkyLion"
How do they softlock???
FINALLY AN UPDATED WAPEACH. GOATS
The Gang is all here! ^^
Amazing, I almost always have extra characters enabled
I LOVE THIS THANK YOUUUUU
This is definitely one of the best mods that everyone should try.
This is way better than the old one, 10 out of 10.
Agreed about what PaperCutz said regarding Sonic; I'd personally love to see the spin dash work more akin to the Sonic Character: Rebooted spin dash where it's more closely based on the Adventure 1 spin dash, as well as the bounce being made to more closely work like it does in Adventure 2, another thing that mod does very cleanly :)
I havent played with this mod beyond a few lobbies so I can stand to gain more experience (and I will give myself plenty!) but as it stands this is a pretty rock solid update to a beloved mod. The old characters got some refreshments in the form of character select menu animations, a few new moves for a few and pre-made palettes, very well done.

The new additions I'm mostly positive on, Wapeach feels like the closest equivalent to a joke character, and her axe while unwieldy and bound to leave her prone after use is fun to pull off the high speed action with.
Donkey Kong is a very strongly designed character, he may have low jumps but his climb helps make up for it (tho I think it can stand to have at least a half second more use time), beyond that his roll is a great mobility tool, perfect for covering distance and flows well with SM64's base kit (bonus points for letting him keep rolling if he hits an enemy!)

Sonic is a very special case so I'll give him his own block of text. For the most part Sonic is pretty damn close to what you would expect from the character. Moves fast, bit slippery, high commitment to his actions but mastery rewards you heavily. I think you lot got down the base locomotion real nice, moving on the ground feels good, and when you can get some extra speed Sonic retains it surprisingly well, alongside the way his jumps accurately kick him off the ground even accounting for the angle can make for real interesting moments and potential on the fly thinking for skilled players. However a move I find lacking is the roll, despite it being a great attack option for keeping Sonic on the move, it has relatively weak use cases for sloped areas, in most cases if Sonic players want to get the most out of that type of terrain it is much better to slide on your butt and then jump off the slope near the bottom to let Sonic keep the speed while running. This I feel is a bit backwards from how the roll functions in the 3d Sonic games that feature it, Sonic players should be encouraged to roll down hills to get their speed (and have the roll maintain speed more easily), if you ask me if you can manage to make it work somewhat like the roll in the Odyssey Mario Moveset mod (ofc minus the ability to continuously boost yourself forward) I think that would go a long way to giving Sonic the proper feel. I also believe his bounce attack should be something you can use multiple times, at the very least a 3 bounce combo would be fine, even if it doesnt provide an extra boost in height like in Sonic Adventure 2.

I would def have to play more of Sonic to give stronger opinions, but if you honed in on a couple of things I think he would be damn near perfect. To bring it all back together tho, this is a fantastic mod and if you want to spice up a lobby of yours this is a sure-fire way to give everyone a little something they may enjoy as a shake up to the usual form of play.
