Additional:
All romhacks, and their levels supported by Flood Expanded, do NOT have voting icons. This is an intentional choice to conserve file space.

The level limiter was removed because I have yet to see a single soul on this planet use it. It was also getting unreasonably hard to maintain, especially with romhack compatibility.

Following the mostly negative reception of RU (Retro Underground) I have decided to sub it out for Mountain Chog. With this replacement the achievement for RU has been changed to be for MC instead.

The Flood Expanded Reference Sheet has also been retired, I feel it is no longer necessary to keep with the new inclusion of the Flood Menu.

One last thing:
This could be the last minor update (X.4.X) for FE done mainly by me for a while, potentially up to a year or more. I’ve had my fun with Flood Expanded and I'd like to move onto other projects.
This update brings a lot of the last little things I wanted to add to Flood Expanded, like romhack compatibility.

Expect at least 1 bug patch though lmao

Returning Features​

CTT had to be stripped of its fog. I couldn’t figure out a way of fixing it by keeping the fog, as fixing one problem brought others.
For the next update in a quadrillion years, expect to see a statistics menu, and more lobby songs.

it's kinda outdated and not really needed anymore because of the Flood Menu but we don't talk about that

  • You can now toggle between the OG Flood Model and the new flood model.
  • v2 Flood model has recieved some major updates.
  • Revamped Level Warping system, this aims to try to iron out bugs with the previous one.
  • First lobby is now Flood Casino.
  • SSL's flood is now water.
  • Flood Model is now 3x bigger.
  • First lobby song is now randomized between 5 different tracks.

Removals​

  • Removed the camera tracking that the flood had in the previous update. I didn't like this at all and i decided to phase it out.

Additions​

  • Added a restart option in the pause menu.
  • You can now press Z with Character Select to access the CS menu in FE's custom pause menu.
  • Added Bomb-Omb Battlefield and gm_construct as new lobby levels.
  • There is now much more flood types that API mods can use.
  • INSANE performance increase. Flood Expanded v2.2.1 is over FIVE TIMES as performant as the previous version

Bug Fixes​

  • May not be a bug fix, but the revamped level system could make the lobby scoreboard work better.
  • When pressing tab, if you were finished, it would display other dead players as also being finished.

Flood Expanded v2.2.0​


The tHIRD part.

Here are most of the changes present:

Changes​

  • When using the Reds modifier, the marker will track the nearest reds before the flag.
  • Snowman's Lands penguin and blowing snowman objects have been removed, meaning you no longer can be blown off the stage.
  • Presets are now updated to include features that were added in v2.1.0.
  • Names are concatenated in the scoreboards.
  • CTT now has a custom level ID thanks to @AgentX providing me the blend.
  • CTT now has a port of Waluigi Pinball as a nod to the original theme.
  • CTT's wingcap no longer replaces the level music.
  • 21< PSS star should be disabled?
  • Kill table is now ran before the area sync check.
  • King Whomp now gets deleted in the Whomp's Fortress lobby.
  • Flag marker now spins and uses DJUI resolution as opposed to N64 res.
  • Much more rankings!
  • Flag now moves with the boat in Jolly Roger Bay.
  • Commands now have much more descriptions.

Removals​

  • Removed Dire Dire Docks, as it was a mediocre level and generally didn't work well with romhack support.

Additions​

  • More API functions + better romhack support.
  • Flood model is updated to support bigger levels.
  • Vigette is applied when you are underwater.
  • New Avalanche Peaks theme.
  • Win popups.
  • Win rates you can access via the pause menu. These do not get updated when AFK'ing.

Returning Features​

  • Lighting is changed when under the flood.
  • Time Scoreboard.

Bug Fixes​

  • Player time should restart when restarting levels now.
  • Flag hitbox being too tall is fixed.

Other​

  • Mod name was changed to exclude version number. I have a suspicion this is why mod storage doesn't save between versions.

Flood Expanded v2.1.0​

The second part.

Here are most of the changes present:

Changes​

  • Modifiers now display dynamically in the command.
  • Joystick controls are now supported in the pause menu.
  • API is larger and has more documentation.
  • Pause menu now displays the version number.
  • UP and FCS now use custom level IDs.
  • Custom SFX now plays in the pause menu.

Removals​

  • Removed the strange High Score system.

Additions​

  • All of the achievements have been filled out.
  • 32 more lobby songs, making a total of 64 lobby songs.
  • New Map "Flood Casino."

  • More settings in the pause menu.

This update has been one in the making for quite some time.
