mp4 cutscenes?

hello guys, i was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to imploment cutscenes in mario 64 as an mp4, like, i had this custom cutscene i had for the start of the game instead of the normal one that is an mp4, and i wanted to add it in the game, basically i want it to work that like it starts soon as you load in the lobby/gama and after the cutscene ends a black box hould fade in covering the entire screen and the fade out and there is where the gameplay starts. (all this via lua)

i'd reccomend doing an ingame cutscene (like the ending of the game) if possible. you can't just import an mp4, you would need to seperate all of its frames into textures and play through that, which isn't the best.

its kind of complicated, as you need to program objects and such. you can see how base sm64 handles it via decomp
