Clean the disc with a soft cloth and water. Get a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and gently clean the laser lens with it. Don't absolutely soak it, let everything dry before testing.
If the disc is heavily scratched, acquire another disc and try that.
If neither of those work then your laser is probably dead.

uh yea lemme just find out how i posted the image again

Also, if there is something on the lens you can lightly wet a cotton swab/Q-Tip with rubbing alcohol and very gently rub it on the lens.
Don't use a lot of pressure since that part is very delicate. Go slow, rub the swab on the lens very lightly and don't rush.
After you get everything off of the lens take the dry end of the swab and lightly dry it off.
As long as you don't use too much pressure it'll be perfectly safe on your lens.

yea but if i try to put the glue away (i dont even know if its even glue) im not sure it will still work (and also the thing in the middle is fine i just think that glue? is what makes the error) edit: i dont know if i just take some sort of knife (bad idea) to scratch it off or i just show you what it does

Overall it looks pretty normal. Cleaning it lightly will help remove dust or anything that might have gotten onto it. Give it a couple of light passes with a cotton swab and that should be enough if it's just dirty.
Just remember to be very very gentle and don't overdo it. It should take about 20 to 30 seconds of very light cleaning. After that try it out. Even if it doesn't seem like it did anything.

If that doesn't solve your issue then it's either your disc or your laser.

ill try that but honestly im sure thats not supposed to be here. edit: yea uh the glue is on the back of it so i think its normal just got to see if its gonna work edit 2: got jumpscared by an error gonna try again

How does the back of your disc look? Do you see any scratches or dirty stuff on it?

theres 3 but they're not that big scratches so im still confused (also gamecube still doesnt want to read the disc)

Take a microfiber cloth like you'd clean a screen with, put just a few drops of water on it (Don't soak it) and gently clean your disc with that. Take the dry part of the same cloth and lightly pat it dry.
The cloth needs to be very soft or it could scratch your disc further.

If that still doesn't work, see about taking it to a local retro game shop and having them take a look at some point. They could help you more than I would be able to at that point. They could at least be able to try a known working disc in your system to get a better idea of what the cause of your issue is.

either the gamecube reader is broke or the disc doesnt work maybe one day ill do go to a retro shop to see the problem one day but for the moment i guess my gamecube is useless (except playing funny sounds with the title screen) but thanks for the help though
