PS5 controller input issues

Hello All! I checked around and didn't see this specific issue, figured I might try my luck with asking around. I'm using a PS5 controller connected via USB cable to my PC. For whatever reason, the game is having one heck of a time trying to recognize any analog inputs.

I'm running the V1.0 Windows DirectX version of the EXE, and I've tried resolving it several ways. A quick summary of each attempt:

  • With Steam Input running, using default Desktop Inputs
  • With Steam Input running, using various custom Desktop Inputs
  • By adding it as a Non-steam game and seeing if the inputs would behave that way (it did not)
  • By disabling steam inputs entirely
  • By closing out of steam completely
  • By booting up DS4Windows and attempting a remapping there

For more specific details, when attempting to set up the Steam inputs, I was attempting to map the Analog sticks as both Direction Buttons, and as "Joystick Mouse", to no avail. I did try the "directional pad" method by binding both to traditional gamepad inputs, as well as keyboard inputs, but still no luck.

It will consistently recognize the "L3/R3" input (or clicking the joystick), but none of the directional inputs. I feel as though I'm hitting a bit of a wall, and hoping someone else has overcome this. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT:
So I was pondering what I had written when I took note of the fact I was running the DirectX version of the EXE. For anyone else having this issue, please download the OpenGL version of the EXE instead if you're using windows, my analog sticks were recognized again immediately!
