Is there a mod or anything to mute Mario's default voice?

It may not be a big deal but it bothers me somewhat playing as a character who either is mute or doesn't have a voice added to their mod and instead hear Mario's voice over em instead

Turning custom voices off in the character select doesn't mute them so is there anyway to mute characters that lack voice clips? I remember I somehow got the character muted by turning on a bunch of specific mods but I can't seem to recreated it so I'm looking for help on this!
