In my friend's game Custom Select characters that don't have a custom voice only sound like mario

As the title says, my characters sound like mario, the lifes icon is a mario, I simply don't like that for my own experience as it is just jarring seeing an adorable or female character sound like mario, I would rather sound like toad but I dont know how to do that since I've tried many things. I could play some character that just has a voice but that's not what I want.

So the ask is as simple as "How do I make my character sound like a default character that isn't mario". Thank you.

Try selecting Toad as a character in the Player options then select the character you're trying to use in the character select menu. If that doesn't work, then you're stuck with what you have right now. Not all character mods have a custom lives icon or voice so you must keep that in mind.
