How does one properly install sonic?

I have this sonic rebooted mod, im just wondering how do i install him properly without breaking my game

You put it in the mods folder, it's as simple as that

it says that it couldn't recognize the command when i had tried it

Sorry, it's actually "/sonic on" and "/sonic off"

also in chat just type / and hit enter and it will list all commands
pretty sure /? works too
