How do i run on Linux?

I recently switched to Linux (i use ZorinOS btw) and tryed to install sm64coopdx and for some reason when i try to run the game it asks for an application? how do i run it?

As a new Linux user myself, I've been told to grant applications permission to run by right-clicking on the sm64coopdx app, click on Permissions, then turn on the tab to run as executable. sm64coopdx has run on my Steam Deck in desktop mode before, but not on my other Linux PCs. (One runs Pop OS, the other runs Debian.) Any whey anyone can help us out here please?
