hackroms compatible with SM64 coop deluxe?

Is it possible to put hack-roms in SM64 coop deluxe and have them be compatible with the game despite not being related to each other?

Rom hacks have to be ported. You can't just replace the vanilla ROM with a romhack and be done with it
