Escape Sequence - Return to spawn within the time limit after collecting a star.

This is a gameplay mod that adds a timed escape sequence after a player collects a star, similar to how levels work in Wario Land 4 and Pizza Tower.

During the escape sequence, the player must return to a portal located at spawn. The time limit is based on the player's proximity to the portal when they collect the star. If the timer runs out, the player will die and the star won't be counted.

A question, can you change the music

You can change the sound that plays when you pick up the star with /warnsnd (which you do not need to be the server owner to use), but the music that plays after is just whatever sequence is currently playing with a faster tempo. Perhaps I'll look into adding options for the music in the future.

• Added a failsafe which should end the sequence if a player somehow exits a level still carrying a star.
• BGM changes during the escape sequence will no longer reset the tempo to normal.
• Removed a few unused files.

hey, i was wondering if you could add the music while the escape sequence is running, like the slider theme or the boss theme

oh and maybe another escape seqeuence but you need to get the grand star before the times runs out!

The answer to your first question is 2 posts above yours.

Regarding the second question, you mean like going all the way back to the castle grounds starting area with the grand star? Or just the start of BITS? In either case, it would require the removal and/or rewriting of the ending cutscene, since it's not intended to trigger outside of Bowser 3. I think it would be possible to have an escape sequence for keys, but that would still require you to be able to warp back to where you were before you fought Bowser and then start the sequence there unless you're playing a romhack that has Bowser hanging around in a level that isn't one of the Bowser arenas.
