I think it's fine for people to make teams, I think new game modes would be more exciting than just extension of already existing ones though. As for the third question I don't really have a preference, although I could see why it'd be unfair for people who started making a mod just for this...

You can check if the mod folders are in C:\Users\<your PC user name>\AppData\Roaming\sm64ex-coop\mods. If they are there, make sure that inside of both of those folders there's stuff like main.lua and such, and not another folder inside. If everything's right like I've explained, they should...
