where to start with custom character creation?

hi!! i'm new here
i'd like to start making custom player models for character selector! but all the resources i can find are like years old and i'm not sure they're up to date. where can i find up to date resources and tutorials and such? i've finished making the mesh for the first character i wanted to make but haven't textured it cause i don't know where to go from here

you can texture the character jsut fine! the only restriction you have is that every texture file you use MUST BE 64x64! (dont use large texture mode) the best tutorial you can use is
by garrulous64, hes actually on the coopdx site if u wanna check out his mods. this gives you the basic rundown of stuff. if you have any troubles with the bin file just ask for stuff.
