Waah! It's been too long since the last brand new Wario Adventure! Maybe I should pick up the old treasure hunting sport again...This bounty for saving Princess Toadstool will do! What? This is supposed to be Mario's game?! Who cares!? Don't I deserve a little glory, too?? I'll just have to butt in and show how much better of a hero I truly am! No need to thank me, wahahaha! I think I'll bring some of my best friends along for this adventure..! That's right, it's Me, and Me, and Me and Me and Me! This adventure lets you play as up to five of my beautiful selves! Play as the me from Land 3, 4, Shake it, Virtual Boy, and from my very first original game! If that isn't an amazing deal, I don't know what is, guhaha!

My Abilities!​


My abilities are different from that lame show-off, Mario's! Enjoy playing as someone actually powerful for once! My shoulder-bash will easily take out any weak enemy that you hit with it, and it won't wait for any doors either! Wahahaha! Cool, huh? And that's not all of my awesome movement options, either! Bash, hold Z, and jump, and I'll do an awesome front flip! Let's see Mario do that!! Guhahaha! How about you find the rest yourself? My moves totally turn Mario's adventure upside down! Some things react differently to my abilities, so try to find every possible way to screw things up!

What, I'm still not tough enough for you!? You should have a little more respect! But your old pal Wario has you covered. Gather those shiny Power Star things to gain new, powerful versions of your abilities! How 'bout that? Take down multiple enemies with the Super Ground Pound! And not even Bowser will stand a chance against my Super Shoulder Bash!

Did you think this hero stuff was free!? No way! I deserve a little something too, you know? Those painting worlds are full of my favorite thing in the world: Coins. Help your pal Wario out and grab as many of them as you can! That Princess Toadstool had the right idea; I think I'll buy myself my own fancy castle with the money. I'll keep track of just how many you've found, and give you my personal, Wario-approved score at the end!

You'd better not think that strength is all you need to complete this adventure! Treasure hunting needs brains, too, you know!? And my brain is as smart as it gets. Each level has a valuable hidden gem somewhere in it, but you'll need to really explore to find some of them... I'm counting on you here! Each gem you find will multiply your ending score, so you can't miss out! There's sixteen gems in total, but...I thought there were only fifteen levels!?

Interact!​

Sounds like everybody was expecting Mario! What, aren't they happy to see me instead!? All the friendly characters in the game will react differently to my awe-inspiring presence. Even the signs have re-written themselves to explain my controls instead!?
It doesn't stop at talking! I'll try bashing into someone to see if they have any goodies for me! It's a fair trade for saving their fancy princess, don't you think? Wahahaha!

Notes:
I'm aware of standard camera having some trouble with Wario's swimming. This will be fixed in the next update.

an absolutely fantastic mod. may i suggest something that could encourage more replayability? what if when you tried to use the character in romhacks and whatnot, a random 1-up mushroom in that level gets chosen for where that gem spawns? (i.e either the full gem, or the chest if it's close to the ground.)

this is fun to use but some time after the mod broke and the moveset dosent work and it just became a mario reskin with animations

Were you playing with other mods enabled? Latest version of CS? (1.16.3), and did you make sure the characters moveset wasnt accidentally disabled in the CS settings?

I remember getting my original DS as a kid and couldn't wait to play as Wario in M64 DS, I thought they would've given him his shoulder bash or made him play differently from Mario, but he ended up being fat Mario and almost unplayable. Growing up with Wario Land 3, this mod feels like a childhood dream come true.

seems pretty cool! but for some reason, wario's moveset is not there when he's selected

Did you ensure that you weren't playing on a game mode that restricts movesets, or that you didn't accidentally disable movests in the CS settings? Make sure you're using the latest version of CS (1.16.3) and the latest version of CoopDX (1.4.1). And do note that some of wario's moves require a certain amount of stars.

Great mod, one thing tho, even with the super bash, I haven't been able to hit Bowser, is there something I'm missing?

The super bash triggers when you bash for long enough to empty the bar; it'll create a shield effect around wario. If you bash Bowser while that's active, he should be hit. Do note that some mods cause compatibility issues that break both toad and bowser's custom interactions!! Bananza DK seems to be one of them, so check if you have that enabled.

the moveset is pure wario perfection. altho, seeing as how the gems are only compatible with vanilla 64 makes me wonder "could there possibly be gems in other rom hacks such as star road?"

That's an upcoming feature! The mod currently has a global function that other mods would be able to use to insert gem lists for other romhacks, so should someone feel like it, they can take it upon themselves to add them. I am planning to add gems myself to some of the more popular romhacks, at least the built-in ones.

For the time being, playing a romhack with no gem compatibility will lower the coin requirements for the endings and notify you.

This mod is really cool. Though I have some ideas to improve it; nothing too big, just little adjustments to the moveset and how certain stuff works that, in my opinion, would make this more enjoyable.

First of all, the attacks: by just pressing B, you only do a punch, and IF you hold B, you do a bash. And talking about the bash, I was thinking that when doing a super bash, Wario should just pass through enemies instead of stopping after hitting them, since it kinda breaks the illusion of the super bash being, well, the bash but STRONGER.

Also, with the punches, you could grab small enemies like Goombas and throw them at stuff, or even shake them like in Shake It! for extra coins. Also, a suplex, because duh.

I was also playing with this other mod that adds escape sequences, and I thought it would be cool to have that more fleshed out for this mod, maybe as a little add-on that tweaks the level design a little so the escape sequences are actually a cool addition to the gameplay rather than just an awkward, half-assed gimmick.

Overall, a really cool mod that has a lot of potential to be even BETTER.

Thank you for your input! I've been gathering suggestions to add in the next update if they do well in playtesting.=, and I'll add your bash mechanic ideas to that list.
I probably won't do the suplex or shaking mechanics you're suggesting, however, as they'd be quite a hassle to code (I tried) and might introduce compatiblity problems. Maybe in an even bigger update further out in the future, but it might be a while before I try.
